Meet the experienced and friendly doctor and staff who make McAlester Family Eyecare the leading provider of vision care products and services in McAlester.
Andrea Mazzare, O.D.
Dr. Andrea Mazzare is originally from Miami, Oklahoma and graduated as a Doctor of Optometry from Northeastern State University Oklahoma College of Optometry in 2009. She is quoted saying “You never know what God has in store. When He planted my little family in McAlester in 2013, we found home.”
Dr. Mazzare, grateful for her Native American roots, worked as the department head for the Choctaw Nation for 10 years and then in 2016, a few weeks short of welcoming a 2nd child, she and her husband Matt opened the doors to a small business: McAlester Family Eyecare. In 2018, MFE expanded buying McAlester Vision Center across from the post office.
Dr. Mazzare loves Jesus and considers Optometry her career and her ministry. She has been an active member of the Board of Directors for the Oklahoma Association of Optometric Physicians. She is passionate about her family, dogs, and loves working with children.
Dr Adisyn Dawkins
Dr. Dawkins is a McAlester native and a proud graduate of the university of Pikeville- Kentucky College of Optometry. She was honored with the AEG visionary Optometry student award, recognizing her for clear vision for her career and contributions to the profession.
Dr. Dawkins believes that great vision starts with great communication – taking time to listen, educate and empower every patient to understand their eye health. Her warm and personable demeanor helps make every visit comfortable and welcoming.
Outside of the exam room, Dr Dawkins loves spending time with her husband and their newborn son, who brings much joy and laughter to their lives. She enjoys …… and connecting with the McAlester community she is proud to call home.
Debbi: Office Manager
Debbi is the Keystone of McAlester Family Eyecare and keeps things running smoothly behind the scenes and often in front of them too. Debbi has more than 25 years of experience in the optical field and can do a little bit of everything in the office. Her knowledge is unmatched and her work ethic sets the standard for the entire team. From managing operations and supporting staff to ensuring every patient receives the best care possible we would be lost without her dedication and grace.
KC: Optical Manager
KC is the heart of the optical department at McAlester Family Eyecare. She focuses on keeping our optical stocked with fun, stylish options that help our patients discover and express their individuality. She has a great eye for style and as a frame guru, she’s known for helping people look and feel their best. She is passionate about life, family, your eyecare, and fun frames. “I love being able to serve this community and I strive to make a difference in your eyecare experience.”
Raven: Checkout and Insurance Specialist
Raven joined the McAlester Family Eyecare team in 2020. She is our helping hand behind the scenes that works as the checkout and insurance specialist to try to create a better eye care experience for all patients. Raven manages patient coordination with care and precision and her genuine compassion and empathy for people makes her an essential part of our team.
Jordan, Optician:
Jordan is a friendly and skilled optician who brings small-town charm and big-time expertise to McAlester Family Eyecare. With a deep understanding of lenses, frames, patient needs and how to make the most of insurance benefits, patients love interacting with her in the optical. Jordan makes every effort to provide comfort and style and will make you feel right at home.
Kaytlyn: Optical Technician
Kaytlyn is a kind and dedicated optical technician who brings both skill and heart to every patient interaction. She and her husband have a huge passion for animals. When she is not caring for patients or pets, she is baking something sweet to share with family and friends. Her warmth and positivity make her a valued member of the McAlester Family Eyecare team.
Jacy: Reception
Jacy’s cheerful voice and smiling face welcomes every patient to McAlester Family Eyecare. Her kind, upbeat personality helps set the tone for a positive visit from the moment someone walks through the door or calls the office. She is great at making sure everyone feels comfortable and cared for.
Rosie: Office cat
Rosie is an alley cat that came with our new building and quickly stole our hearts. Purr-scribing cuddles and calm vibes to everyone who visits, Rosie loves snacks and sun-naps.
